Pierre Gasly was told a few weeks ago that he will be driving at AlphaTauri next year. Christian Horner went on to say that he should not count on a return to Red Bull Racing in the future either. After some surprise, Gasly now seems to have embraced his fate.

The Frenchman tells Speedweek.com that he wants to build on the success he and the team have already achieved this season. He is, of course, referring to the victory in Monza, but also to the score in the final ranking. He thinks that this can be even better in 2021.

"It's going very well and I'm already looking forward to next year, in which I leave no stone unturned to get better and achieve even more. AlphaTauri has ambitious goals and I am happy to take even more responsibility to make the team as successful as it deserves."

AlphaTauri and Gasly is a good match

It helps that Gasly feels at ease with AlphaTauri. Not only does he feel he can take the team to a new level, but they also understand what it takes to get the best out of him as a driver. That's why, according to Gasly, they already know what else is needed for next season.

"We know what we need to change. It is an important part of my job to steer the team in the right direction during development and to help the whole team to become faster and finish as high as possible in the standings for the World Championship."
