Sebastian Vettel has not been able to show the best of himself in 2020, to say the least. His new employer, Aston Martin, may be looking at him with some doubt, but according to Ralf Schumacher, they don't have to worry about that.

According to Schumacher, Leclerc is clearly the main focus of the Ferrari team this season. "The team really focuses on one driver and leaves Vettel to his fate," said Schumacher on Sport1.de.

Vettel still competitive in 2019

However, Schumacher believes that the performance of 2019 proves that something is not quite right on Vettel's side of the garage in 2020: "Last year there were races where Vettel was at a different level. I am just thinking of Canada or the Red Bull Ring. The Red Bull Ring where he didn't have a chance this year. Sebastian is now being told only what is necessary."

Vettel still has a lot to offer Aston Martin in the eyes of Schumacher and thinks he can still show great things with the relatively small team. He believes there is a lot of potential in the Racing Point car that is not yet fully realised due to mistakes.
