Lando Norris has made quite the impression since joining F1. Along with Max Verstappen and George Russell he is among a group of talented youngsters in the sport but he wants to avoid any comparisons to his rivals.

When Norris was asked about the qualities himself, Verstappen, and Russell, he admitted he doesn't like comparing them. "I don't know, I don't like this kind of thing. It's a really complicated question," said the McLaren driver in an interview with FormulaPassion.it.

Norris doesn't want to choose

"It's too difficult to give an answer, I don't have one and if I did, I'd go randomly. As long as you're not a teammate and you don't have exactly the same car, it's hard to say. They are both exceptional drivers."

The driver who celebrated his 21st birthday last Friday made an attempt to describe both Russell and Verstappen afterwards. "George is an extraordinary driver, even if it is difficult for him to prove it at the moment, but I think he has already shown his talent and what he can do in Formula 1," said Norris who continued on Verstappen: "Everyone knows what Max can do and what he can achieve."

Verstappen and Russell are different

Norris, however, maintains that he does not say who he thinks is the best. "I think it would be a very tight comparison, with three highly competitive people. I have a good friendship with both Max and George and I think they are incredibly good drivers. I think they excel in different ways and have quite different characters. They have different qualities, but what each of them has is exceptional. I respect them and I think I would be close to them, but it's too difficult to answer and make a ranking."
