Alexander Albon hit the wall hard during the second free practice session ahead of the Bahrain Grand Prix. The Red Bull Racing driver came off the track in the final corner, lost traction at the rear and then turned right into the tyre wall. Fortunately, he was able to get out unharmed.

"It is going well. I have already had a few, so I am used to it," Albon said in front of the Skyt Sports camera. "It was one of those things where I should’ve pulled out of it really. I was a bit surprised by the lack of grip. It was just one of them things. It was an awkward angle crash, so yeah, not fun."

Albon quite satisfied until his crash

“I did back out, but not enough basically. When you have one tyre on the asfalt and one tyre on the astro, that’s when tank slappers happen," continues Albon, who was actually quite satisfied until then.

"It was ok actually. In FP1 the car was feeling good straightaway. In FP2 I tried a couple of things that didn’t quite work out. But that was more about the driving actually, just getting up to speed. The track grips up a lot and those prototype tyres are not fun to drive on."
