Fernando Alonso has been allowed to drive for Renault during the Young Driver Test in Abu Dhabi, despite the fact that the test was intended for young talents. Andreas Seidl therefore refuses to take part in a test for Carlos Sainz at Ferrari.

Fernando Alonso will test for Renault in Abu Dhabi the test being for young drivers. However, now that the FIA have given permission to Alonso and Renault, Ferrari also wants to test with Carlos Sainz. Andreas Seidl and McLaren are clear about this, however, and do not want to give way.

Sainz is not allowed to go to Ferrari

''The rules are very clear, so I don't see any possibility of Carlos driving that car. For us, the rules are very clear that we cannot drive with the current drivers and that is why we as a team have decided not to participate. That was already the case in April," said Seidl according to Motorsport.com.

Seidl also doesn't need clarity about the rules and thinks Daniel Ricciardo doesn't need a test. ''We look forward to soaking with Daniel from January. He is an experienced driver who will be joining an experienced team. I'm sure he'll be in good shape at the start of next season," McLaren's team boss concluded.
