Helmut Marko is keeping a close eye on Lewis Hamilton's situation at Mercedes. The Red Bull Racing advisor finds it quite remarkable that no signatures for a renewed partnership have yet been made. In any case, Marko hopes that it will be a small advantage for Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. Marko also discusses the situation regarding the Monaco Grand Prix.

"The two parties have not found each other yet. It is already January, so there is definitely a certain amount of tension," Marko said in conversation with RTL. The 77-year-old Austrian also sees that there are no more spots at other teams for Hamilton in 2021. So it will either be a sabbatical or a new contract with Mercedes.

Monaco will 'just' go ahead?

The Monaco Grand Prix weekend takes place at the end of May, but it is unclear whether the event can go ahead. To prepare the street circuit, many preparations have to be made.

However, Marko reassures us in conversation with Auto Bild: "I have heard that they are currently working on a concept to hold the race even with half the spectators."
