Red Bull and Alpha Tauri are diligently searching for an engine supplier. As of 2022 both teams will be without an engine after Honda already announced they would stop their Formula 1 programme. Franz Tost, team boss of Alpha Tauri, is not happy with the attitude of the engine suppliers.

Earlier, Red Bull raised the idea of continuing to run with a Honda engine after 2021. Even after the Japanese brand has pulled its hands from it. The condition is that there must be a freeze on engine development. After all, Max Verstappen's team is not capable of developing the engine itself.

Words, but no deeds

Tost criticises the attitude of the other engine suppliers. "Even though they keep saying they agree: Basically, they don't agree and just want to stall for time. This is the usual game played by the manufacturers who are ahead," Tost said to Motosport-Magazin.com.

Next Thursday, the Formula 1 commission will look into the matter. However, it is doubtful whether a decision will be made by then. Hopefully we'll get more clarity on what will happen with Red Bull and Alpha Tauri.
