- GPblog.com
After every race weekend, Formula 1 announces their official F1 Power Rankings. Not every driver who drives a great race gets on the podium, so this ranking is a nice reflection of which driver is having a strong season. In recent years we have seen a constant neck-and-neck race between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. What is the situation after the race in Portugal?
The top 3
Lewis Hamilton took the win in Portimao, and that gives him a score of 9.2 this week. Max Verstappen, however, is missing out on a few points, which according to Formula1.com can be attributed to a number of mistakes the Dutchman made this weekend in both qualifying and the race. His grade is an 8.3.
This means that Hamilton shares the lead in the overall ranking with Lando Norris with an average score of 9.1, while Verstappen drops from second place to third with an average score of 8.9.
