Hamilton still expects Red Bull to make mistakes: "We've already had our share"

Lewis Hamilton is top of the championship, but with Max Verstappen hot on his heels, the Brit cannot rest easy this year. The seven-time world champion is enjoying this battle, but of course hopes to win it.
In the past seven years Mercedes has been so dominant that the driver's championship has been fought out between the two Mercedes drivers. With Nico Rosberg as a teammate it was still somewhat exciting for Hamilton, but since the arrival of Valtteri Bottas it has become a lot easier.
Can Verstappen match this experience?
In 2021 he will face Verstappen. The Dutchman is fast and eager, but Hamilton has another weapon and that is experience. ''I hope that I can make the difference in the end. It certainly counts. A drop out can kill us. Even the extra World Cup point that the fastest race lap brings could result in the title,'' said the Mercedes driver according to the NOS.
''I'm not into psychological warfare. I just want to be the best. If I focus all my energy on that, I can perform great. My father always said: you shouldn't talk so much, show it on the track.''
Hamilton wants to learn from mistakes
In the first three races it was back and forth between the two teams. Verstappen was fastest in Bahrain, but lost the race. In Imola it was the other way around and Hamilton also crashed into the wall during the race. In Portugal, Mercedes was stronger, and Verstappen struggled with Track Limits. This will continue to go back and forth throughout the year, Lewis believes.
''Red Bull is going to win a lot of races. So are we, but things will go wrong for both teams. We've had our share already, but that's okay. You learn from mistakes. It's very important how you take revenge after a difficult weekend. I know what my team is capable of when they give it their all. To fight back is an art'', concludes the Brit.
