Verstappen: 'Lewis also made a mistake in Imola, but was lucky with the red flag'

Max Verstappen will have his first real shot at the world title in 2021, and that brings extra pressure with it. Drivers make mistakes under that pressure, so it's not surprising that Verstappen has made a few.
2021 has so far been a battle between Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Both drivers have a car to win with, and that results in great battles. In Portugal, Verstappen did not come close to Hamilton in the end, because he made some mistakes and the RB16B just was not fast enough.
Verstappen not worried about mistakes
When Sky Germany asks Verstappen if he has an explanation for his mistakes, Verstappen remains sober. ''No, everyone makes mistakes. Lewis made a mistake in Imola, but was lucky with the red flag. We all drive on the limit, and sometimes you make small mistakes'', said the Dutchman.
Despite the mistakes Verstappen has nothing to complain about. The Red Bull Racing driver never started an F1 season so well. ''We've finished second twice now and first once. I don't think that's so bad'', concludes Verstappen.
