Wolff after disappointing weekend: "The first thing I would like to do is cry"

Toto Wolff will probably sleep a little less well tonight. Mercedes experienced a very disappointing weekend with just seventh place for Lewis Hamilton and another failed pit stop for Valtteri Bottas.
Design flaw at Mercedes
In front of the Sky Sports microphone, Wolff explains what went wrong with Bottas' pit stop. Was it human error or was there a technical defect? "Actually, just everything came together," the Mercedes team boss explains. "It's definitely a design flaw that this could happen at all."
Wolff also has something to say about the mechanic in question who couldn't get the right front wheel of Bottas' car loose. "That's one of the best mechanics we have at the stops. That's why it's good. He won't make that mistake again." So what exactly happened? "The mechanic turned on the wheel gun and turned off the thread. Then we had no thread at all."
Home without a trophy
It is not often that Mercedes goes home without a trophy after a Grand Prix. For Wolff therefore a big disappointment. "The first thing I would like to do is cry. But that would not be productive. The whole weekend was to forget." About the remark of Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko, that Mercedes makes mistakes under pressure, Wolff also has his rebuttal ready. "No, I think it's great. More pressure. At the end we will see who has withstood the pressure the best."
