The Monaco GP weekend was a very successful one for Red Bull. Not only did they see Mercedes lose a plenty of points, the performance of Sergio Perez and Max Verstappen was also encouraging. Verstappen, of course, won the race, whilst Perez finished fourth, narrowly missing out on the podium from Lando Norris and McLaren.

Perez knows that Red Bull are now top of both championships, but in an interview with Speedweek.com  he remains grounded about the situation.

"Of course we are happy that we are now ahead in both World Championship rankings. But let's keep our feet on the ground. We've only finished five races of the scheduled 23 races. In the end, Max was right when he said in Monte Carlo: it doesn't matter who is in front after five races. What matters is who is in front after the Abu Dhabi finale. We have to keep working as concentrated as before", said the Mexican.

PEREZ LOOKING FORWARD TO BAKU

In the same interview, Perez also looks forward to the next street circuit on the calendar: Baku. There are opportunities there too for Red Bull, and Perez is looking forward to it in. "I can't wait to go to Baku. We have shown in several races what a high level we can hold. But we need to improve in qualifying", the Red Bull driver concluded.

Red Bull will be looking to maintain, and perhaps extend, its lead in both rankings in Baku.
