Bottas stuck at airport in Finland for hours
- GPblog.com
All drivers have now arrived in Baku and are joining the press conference, which is now underway. Valtteri Bottas however doesn't, as he hasn't arrived in Azerbaijan yet. In fact, he is speaking to the media from Finland as he is being held up. The Mercedes driver could not leave by plane because of a problem.
Later today
It is expected that Bottas will arrive in Baku later today, so he won't miss too many briefings. He has to rely mainly on the team in terms of preparation, given he more or less misses a whole day, but he's not worried about that: "We are well prepared as a team. Hopefully, I'll be there in the evening."
The reason for the delay is in the plane in Finland. He has been waiting for five and a half hours now, as there is said to be a problem with the aircraft. "I am still in Finland. Actually, I should have been in Baku by now," Bottas says when asked from Formel1.de where he is.
Meanwhile, he has found a new plane and considering it is only around noon, it is expected that the Finnish driver will arrive in Azerbaijan on time.
