Disbelief after Pirelli research comes out: 'Must be Voodoo magic then'
- GPblog.com
Pirelli announced on Tuesday that the investigation into Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen's blowouts had been completed. It is causing a lot of dissatisfaction online.
Blowout for Verstappen
With two blowouts in Azerbaijan on a straight where drivers drive at full speed, you would expect the FIA and Pirelli to turn over every stone to find out what caused the blowouts. However, the investigation has been completed, and Pirelli has not come up with a clear cause for the problem.
It would not be due to debris, it would not be due to the car and also the tyre pressure was fine. Still, two tyres burst, which could have caused much bigger consequences in a different spot. The fact that Pirelli doesn't come up with a plan to prevent this from happening again, and doesn't even seem to know what the problem is, causes a lot of incomprehension.

So what was the reason for the failures then?! Aston and Redbull stuck to the limits given, no cuts in tyre from debris and no defects or failure from Pirelli? Voodoo magic then I guess

Sounds like: ‘we don’t know what caused the tyres to blow out but we’ll just say it wasn’t us’ …
