Max Verstappen kicks off the first race weekend at the Red Bull Ring in Austria as championship leader. Red Bull Racing's home circuit has been good to the Dutchman so far, and he says he is looking forward to the weekend with a good feeling.

Enjoying victory in France

Verstappen and team-mate Sergio Perez were the last to take part in Thursday afternoon's media sessions. Verstappen increased his lead over Lewis Hamilton to fourteen points with one of his best wins in France. He himself is still enjoying the victory at Paul Ricard. "It was an important victory, because we have not been very competitive at that circuit before."

Verstappen positive about chances on home circuit Red Bull

The Dutchman can look back on great results at his team's home circuit. "I've had a lot of fun at this circuit, but the two wins really stand out," Verstappen told Formule1.nl among others. "Especially the first win with Honda was emotional."

Verstappen is therefore positive about his chances in Austria this weekend, but is still holding back. "We have had good results here, but that is no guarantee that it will be the same again this year. We are of course motivated to do well here."
