FP2 Full results: Verstappen fastest again, ahead of Ricciardo and Ocon
- GPblog.com
Just like in the morning, Max Verstappen was also the fastest man on track in the second free practice session for the Austrian Grand Prix. However, the top five looked completely different in the afternoon compared to the morning. Daniel Ricciardo in his McLaren was the second man on track, followed by Esteban Ocon in the Alpine.
Gasly misses free practice
Pierre Gasly, who finished second in the first free practice session, had to miss the afternoon session. Honda reported problems with the engine's data, so the Frenchman's AlphaTauri was taken out of service for further investigation. The most notable moment of the session was the spin of Valtteri Bottas, who could only set a time good enough for P12.
Verstappen the man to beat
The Dutchman seems to be the big favourite for pole position tomorrow. Ricciardo and Ocon followed the Dutchman three tenths behind, and just ahead of Lewis Hamilton who set the fourth fastest time. Fernando Alonso completed the top five. Sergio Perez was slightly disappointing in ninth. Antonio Giovinazzi did very well with a time good enough for 10th. See below the full results.
