Helmut Marko saw Max Verstappen take pole position for the Styrian Grand Prix without any major problems. The 78-year old from Graz noticed that his pupil didn't take any risks and masterfully grabbed the fastest time of the day.

"We weakened slightly in third practice, I would say," Marko hinted to Sky. Speaking to the German television channel, the Red Bull Racing advisor says that was rectified prior to qualifying. "But Max solved that problem. On the medium tyre, he was the fastest. On the softs he was strong without taking any risks."

One-stop for Verstappen?

"Traditionally, this race is a one-stop. We'll just have to see how it goes. The two Mercedes and Max will start on the mediums, so we'll see how it works out," Christian Horner shares with Sky Sports after qualifying at the Red Bull Ring.

It's possible that all strategies can be binned as well. This is because rain is predicted for Sunday afternoon. "I think we have a different challenge tomorrow. Thunderstorms are predicted, so that would add another dimension," the team boss concluded.
