Max Verstappen pulverised Mercedes at the Red Bull Ring. In a home match for Red Bull, the Dutchman outpaced the competition by more than 35 seconds. It was a great performance by the 23-year old Dutchman, who took his second consecutive victory in Formula 1. Verstappen is obviously very satisfied.

"You never know how things are going to go, but right away I could tell that the balance of the car was good. It was good to manage the tyres from the start. I had tyres left at the end," Verstappen told Mark Webber immediately after the Austrian Grand Prix. He saw Lewis Hamilton make his pit stop earlier."We reacted to them and tried to drive our own times. That worked out well today."

Red Bull wants even better

Verstappen managed to run six points clear of his title rival thanks to his win in Austria. "It's very positive, but we have to show it again next week. We will see what we can do better. I'm looking forward to next week." This is because there will be another race in Spielberg then.

Teammate Sergio Perez is getting stronger and the RB16B seems to be a better car than Mercedes'. The momentum is with Red Bull. "It's looking very good. We need to keep pushing," he is watchful for the team from Brackley.
