Not much is yet known about Alfa Romeo 's driver line-up for 2022. With Kimi Raikkonen appearing to be at the end of his F1 career and Antonio Giovinazzi keen to stay but having mixed results, there is a good chance that changes will take place.

Team boss Fred Vasseur has revealed that the decision on their line-up will not be made until the final stages of the season. The team has several options, but will wait to make a decision, according to the site of Soymotor.com.

Names that have already been mentioned include Mick Schumacher, Valtteri Bottas, who may lose his seat at Mercedes, and Callum Ilott. "It's too early to talk about these things. We are all working together, we have a lot of back-to-back races in the last three months of racing. We talk about 2022 in the last part of this year, not before," Vasseur said.

Alfa Romeo awaits decision Mercedes and Red Bull

The team boss thinks it's good that drivers are under pressure to win the trust of their team. First Mercedes and Red Bull will have to make a decision so that there is more clarity for Alfa Romeo as well.

"Being under pressure is always good, although not for a long time. We have to keep everyone under pressure, we don't know what can happen to us. Maybe there are young drivers available or other drivers competing at the top. We don't want to take anything for granted at the moment," he added.

"We know that the grid at the top is starting to take shape. Mercedes will make their decision, then it will be Red Bull's turn and at some point it will be our turn. At the moment we don't have to decide. We have doubts about Kimi at the moment, but Antonio is moving forward," Vasseur ends.
