These are the times for the British Grand Prix in 2021
After a break the Silverstone Grand Prix is scheduled for this weekend. It promises to be an exciting weekend with the very first sprint race on the schedule.
During the British Grand Prix we can expect a lot of spectacle. The battle between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is in full swing and after two races in Austria, it will be exciting who has the upper hand on this circuit. Formula 1 will also try out a new format with the sprint race.
Free practices and qualifying
The race weekend starts this Friday with the first free practice. It starts at 14:30 BST and will last for one hour. Instead of the second free practice on Friday, the qualifying session for the sprint race on Saturday will start at 18:00. This qualifying will last one hour just like the normal qualifying.
On Saturday, the second free practice will take place. This is scheduled at 12:00. A few hours later, at 16:30, the sprint race will take place. It lasts for half an hour and will determine the starting grid for Sunday's race.
Race at Silverstone
This Sunday the race will start at 15:00 BST. It will be an important race for Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, who is driving his home race here. Can Hamilton win in front of his audience or will Verstappen and Red Bull Racing be dominant again? And can the sprint race still bring some surprises?
