This year it's not just on-track battles between Red Bull Racing and Mercedes. The two teams are also constantly fighting each other off the track. Especially when it comes to the technical regulations there is a lot of mutual targeting. The FIA has already clarified several technical guidelines.

Helmut Marko sees Mercedes frequently trying to attack Red Bull on the car's engineering. "It's a list of multiple technical accusations that have all led to nothing," the Austrian explained in a conversation with Sport1. Marko also doesn't seem to be worried that there is anything illegal about the cars of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez.

Red Bull awaits clarity FIA

"If that's Mercedes' style, we can live with that as long as it doesn't get personal. It's all games and at the moment Toto (Wolff, ed.) is a bit more focused on Christian (Horner, ed.)". The Red Bull advisor himself has also accused Mercedes of having an illegal front wing on several occasions, as yet without success.

"We have our suspicions and our images show how much the front wing moves. We are still waiting for an answer from the FIA. We expect clarity". It strikes Marko that Mercedes actually hardly react to Red Bull's accusations. "When something comes from Mercedes, we react to it enormously quickly. Rear wing, engine, tyre pressure - everything has already been called into question", Marko concludes.
