Alfa Romeo will continue to link its name to Formula 1 in the coming years. On Wednesday it was announced that the iconic brand has signed a multi-year deal with Sauber, the actual company behind the Formula One team.

In 2018, Alfa Romeo returned to Formula One after more than 30 years as a partner of the Sauber Formula One team. A year later, the team was officially renamed Alfa Romeo. The partnership will be reviewed annually, but the team has at least signed the new Concorde Agreement to race in F1 until at least the end of 2025.

Collaboration beyond the circuit

Frederic Vasseur told on the official website of Formula 1 he was delighted with the partnership. "The new regulations give us the opportunity to take another step forward and I am convinced that we are in the perfect position to take big steps forward together. We look forward to our future together and to continuing to move towards the top of the grid."

The partnership between Sauber and Alfa Romeo extends beyond the track. "The work we are doing in the automotive world has shown the extent of Sauber Engineering's technology and production skills and we are confident that we can continue to work for Alfa Romeo on new and exciting projects that will shape the future of the automotive industry."

Alfa Romeo born on the race track

"As a historic Italian car brand, Alfa Romeo was born on the race track", adds Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato. "Today we are proud to continue to honour that racing DNA by putting it at the centre of our brand's future. Formula 1 is an advanced laboratory for future electrification, fully in line with our vision for the coming years. Moreover, motorsport offers the incomparable global exposure we want to leverage for a successful future."
