Jos Verstappen deletes tweet: Angry remarks towards Wolff misunderstood
- GPblog.com
Jos Verstappen has spoken with F1-insider.com after all. This appears to be new information that the moderators of the Formula 1 section on Reddit.com have received. Verstappen has since deleted his tweet following a misunderstanding regarding angry remarks made towards Toto Wolff.
Experienced Ralf Bach
"The tweet where Jos Verstappen replied to a Dutch media outlet was only a misunderstanding. He did talk to a reporter of ours Ralf Bach. Ralf Bach and Jos know each other for years. Jos just never realised that Ralf also works for F1 Insider as this site is relatively new compared to the other outlets Ralf Bach has worked for in his over 40 years as an F1 journalist. We talked to Jos Verstappen about the tweet and what it caused and he agreed to erase the tweet in question," we can read on Reddit.
Jos Verstappen has indeed deleted the tweet in question. Ralf Bach is an experienced F1 journalist who has been around the F1 paddock for 40 years. He worked for Sport Bild, Auto Bild Sport and Sport1 among others. But now he's the chief editor of the relatively new F1-insider.com.
Verstappen angry at Wolff
All commotion arose after Jos Verstappen made some remarks earlier where he would have said that Toto Wolff doesn't need to call in the future. "You don't celebrate your victory with such euphoria if your colleague is still in hospital. And as for Toto Wolff, we've had good contact for years. I think everyone knows why. He didn't contact us yesterday. Now he doesn't have to call either," Jos said at the time.
When Jos saw these statements he immediately explained on Twitter: 'Haven't had a conversation with F1 insider at all.' Because of this tweet, the website came under fire for possible fake news, but it all turns out to be based on a misunderstanding. This tweet has been deleted.
