'I’m learning from Verstappen and Pérez about the car'

Red Bull Racing has managed to have a car with which Max Verstappen can compete with Mercedes this season. Sergio Pérez has also shown that his car is capable of great things in 2021. Alexander Albon will play a big part in this.
The driver entered Red Bull in 2019 as Pierre Gasly's replacement but was unable to convince the team of his qualities. Therefore, the driver was told in 2020 that Sergio Pérez was replacing him. Albon subsequently failed to secure a seat in Formula 1 and is therefore the team's reserve driver this season.
He has focused a lot on simulators in recent times. "I’m seeing what goes on at the factory behind the scenes, the development work and seeing the things we work on in the simulator go to the track," he said on the official website of Formula 1. "It’s very rewarding. Of course, it’s not what I want to be doing long term, but it’s interesting to see. I’m learning from Max and Checo about the car."

Verstappen is currently on top of the world championship standings. The Dutchman has a lead of eight points over pursuer Lewis Hamilton, who took victory at Silverstone.
