More and more Formula 1 weekend are taking place with spectators in the stands. Although this is a positive change for the racing sport, it also brings some risks. Zak Brown experienced that as well.

The McLaren CEO contracted the coronavirus ahead of the British Grand Prix, forcing him into quarantine. "I think it's going to be a handful", he stated in conversation with Autosport.com. "I think we have to not let our guard down. We need to do everything we've been doing the last year and a half, even as the government opens up."

Where Brown had been fully vaccinated, he was still found to be carrying the virus. "Hopefully we come through this and see the vaccine is doing its job of keeping people healthy. But am I concerned? Yeah I think it's going to create this topic, and everyone's got an opinion."

McLaren in the world championship

Brown can be very satisfied with his team this season. Lando Norris is in third place in the world championship for the time being, placing him higher than Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas. The difference with the Finnish driver is five points.
