Aston Martin certainly struggled at the start of the season, but the car has improved throughout the season. Also the team's two drivers, Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel, have been performing better and better. As a result the team is now sixth in the Constructors' standings.

Lawrence Stroll, the team's ambitious owner, said in a statement to Motorsport.com The difference in performance this year despite the difference in name and experience is not so big. In fact, Stroll's father puts him next to the experienced German in terms of level.

"He (Stroll) is only 22 years old. Whether it's his performance on pole position or the various podium finishes, you know, he's competing with Sebastian this year, I think they're probably about equal. So I don't have any concerns about Lance having lesser performances. As he grows, he'll get more experience. Like everybody else his age, he will get stronger. So I have absolutely no worries."

Aston Martin fight for fifth place

Because that seems to be the highest goal this season. Under the Racing Point name, the team finished fourth last year, but that is not likely this year. The green car is in a fierce battle with AlphaTauri and Alpine for the places behind McLaren and Ferrari. And each place brings extra money. Speaking of money: Vettel isn't the cheapest either, according to Lawrence. Yet he forgives him his 'sluggish' start.

"Yes, he is the most expensive, but I think he is doing great. He started off slow, but he's gotten up to speed. I think the slow start was also due to the problems we encountered during testing. We were able to drive very little, I think we only had three days. And one and a half days out of those three days we had breakdowns with the car, so we were short of driving time."

In Hungary, the exciting battle for fifth place will continue. In Hungary, the three teams will once again fight for the final points in the top ten.
