Max Verstappen crashed out at the Silverstone Grand Prix, had to go to hospital for tests, and from the same hospital saw Verstappen win the race despite a ten-second penalty, closing in on the battle for the world championship. Not his best Sunday, shall we say.

ZiggoSport spoke with the Dutchman prior to the weekend. He was quite shocked by the blow he made, but the Dutchman is doing well.

"Yes, it was a nice hit that you don't want to experience too often. Of course you hate the moment, that you are out of the race. But at that moment you also have some problems. It is going well now. A bruise, but that's not a problem.

Verstappen on the phone call

That Verstappen and Hamilton called is now known. The content of that conversation, however, has not been revealed. The Dutchman did not want to say much about the conversation to Jack Plooij either.

"Yes we had a phone call. I don't have to go into detail about what was said there, but of course it doesn't change what happened there." Verstappen will have turned the switch with the team after Thursday. The Dutchman can try to take sporting revenge for the weekend in Britain and try to end the first half of the season on a positive note.
