Verstappen enjoys battle: "Makes the championship a lot less boring"

The rivalry between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton is often compared to that of other drivers in Formula 1 history, especially since the clash between the title rivals at Silverstone. Verstappen, however, does not want to compare himself to that.
Asked by BILD how he feels about his rivalry with Hamilton being compared to names such as Prost vs. Senna, Piquet vs. Mansell and Lauda vs. Hunt and which one matches it the most, the Dutchman replied, "Senna vs. Prost sounds the best to me. But I don't think about that much. I don't see the rivalry with Hamilton so much either. I concentrate on myself and my team."
Verstappen happy with exciting title fight
Can he learn anything from the rivalry between Hamilton and Nico Rosberg in 2016? "Not really. They were in the same car, so it's easier to beat your teammate. We have different cars, so it's slightly different."
Asked if he feels the title battle with Mercedes is fair, a fair answer follows. "So far this season the races have been good, with the exception of the incident at Silverstone," said Verstappen, who is happy that the German racing stable is no longer so dominant. "It's nice that we have the opportunity to race at a higher level this year. That makes the championship a lot less boring than in recent years," said the Dutchman.
