Emotional Russell: 'Know how much the points mean to the team'

The moment was finally there for the Williams team at the Hungarian GP. George Russell and Nicholas Latifi both finished in the top ten and gained their first points for the team. Russell appeared emotional in front of the camera.
"Mental. So happy and quite emotional to be honest", Russell said in front of the Sky Sports camera after the race. "It means so much more than just the result today. It's three years of hard work. Maybe we got lucky today, but they've been many times we haven't gotten lucky, and we truly deserve this."
The team has overtaken Alfa Romeo in the constructors' championship and the drivers are also making a jump in the drivers' championship. It's a long-awaited result for Williams after several rounds of bad luck for Russell.
Russell is happy for Latifi
"For me it was clear", Russell explained. "I know how much the points mean to the team. We just need one good result out of 23 races, and if Nicholas could have come home in the top five, that would have been enough to absolutely seal P8 in the Constructors' Championship."
"The prize money, what it means to the team is huge, as opposed to maybe him coming home in P8 and me coming home in P12. He made a really great start and obviously he was ahead of me at the restart. [I'm] just overjoyed. So happy for Nicholas. To be really fair to him, he's put in so much hard work."
