This weekend, the 24 Hours of Le Mans is on the agenda again. Alpine is taking part in the legendary race and will not miss out on this opportunity. The team will demonstrate several cars in a special parade, including the Formula 1 car.

During the parade Fernando Alonso will do a demonstration with an Alpine F1-car. Alonso himself is a two-time winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, in 2018 and 2019. It is the first time in modern history that the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, the organizer of the race, allows a Formula One demonstration at the event. According to Motorsportweek.com this is a strong indication that Alpine plans to unveil a new prototype program at Le Mans.

Alonso's teammate at Alpine, Esteban Ocon, will also be seen at the Le Mans circuit this weekend. He will drive an Alpine A110 GT4, one of the A110 models that will be on display in the parade. That also includes an A110 Rally, driven by rally winner Manu Guigou, and an A110S street car, driven by Alpine CEO Laurent Rossi. The Alpine A470-Gibson, which Alpine raced in the LMP2 class, will be driven by two-time winner Pierre Thiriet.

The Le Mans 24 Hours gets underway at 4pm on Saturday. Last year the race was won by Sébastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Kazuki Nakajima for Toyota Gazoo Racing. A total of nine Dutch drivers are participating in the race, including the brand new world champion in Formula E, Nyck de Vries.
