Sainz sees points for improvement: 'That's what gets you the points'

Carlos Sainz is having a good start of his time as a Ferrari driver. The Spaniard is at about the same level as teammate Charles Leclerc in the championship and has already managed two podiums. Sainz is happy that he could adapt to the car so quickly.
Leclerc maybe the fastest of the field
"The goal of every driver is to be the best in the field. You don't just want to beat your teammate," Sainz revealed at Auto, Motor und Sport. When Sainz started at Ferrari, he wasn't sure what to expect from the time and how quickly he would get used to the car. "It was a new beginning for me with a lot of question marks".
Sainz has a lot of respect for his new teammate Leclerc, who he knew would be difficult to beat: "I knew I would be up against one of the fastest drivers in the field, if not the fastest, in a car that Charles knows well and in a team he was well intrigued by. You wonder how you fit in there." But he is currently three points ahead of Leclerc in the championship.
Sainz knows points of improvement
According to Sainz, the speed was there immediately when he got into the Ferrari, but lacked a little bit of order at the start: "That consistency gets you the points. I hope this will improve as I get closer to the team. The last few weekends since the French GP have allowed me to do that well," concluded the 26-year-old Spaniard.
