'Albon at top of the list of two F1 teams, plan B is IndyCar'

Perez's confirmation at Red Bull Racing also means that there will be no place at Red Bull for Alexander Albon before 2022. The Thai driver, who is currently a reserve driver with the Austrian team, is currently racing in the DTM and was planning to return to F1 in 2022. Red Bull will do everything possible to get him a seat and they have made progress in talks with other teams.
The Italian branch of Motorsport.com reports that the Thai is the first choice of Williams, ahead of Nyck de Vries and Guanyu Zhou. That trio is in all probability the trio that will have to fight it out, should George Russell leave for Mercedes. The same medium also reports that Albon is on Alfa Romeo's list.
Plan B is the IndyCar
Antonio Giovinazzi seems pretty certain to be there, but Kimi Raikkonen is increasingly losing out to his Italian teammate and there's a chance that this season could be the Finn's last. Horner previously revealed after Sergio Perez's announcement at Red Bull Racing in 2022, that they will be looking for another F1 seat for the Thai, who drove for the team in 2019 and 2020.
Plan B for Albon is IndyCar, where he was present during the summer break. Romain Grosjean's team, Dale Coyne Racing, is interested in recruiting him to the American racing class. Red Bull sees this as an option if they cannot give Albon a place in Formula 1.
