Rosberg: "Hamilton one of the best ever, Max one of the best now too"

Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are currently neck and neck in the battle for the world title in Formula 1. After years of not really being in danger, the British current world champion finally has a real fight on his hands again. The last time this was the case Hamilton lost the battle to Nico Rosberg, who then immediately decided to retire.
Max vs Lewis
So Rosberg knows what it means to fight for the world title with a titan like Hamilton. That's why he is now enjoying the fierce battle between the Mercedes driver and Verstappen. During the kick-off event of the Dutch Grand Prix, he said: "This year I feel like watching every Sunday again, especially with this battle between Max and Lewis. It is a unique situation. Lewis is one of the best ever and you could say Max is now top 10 as well. He's at an incredibly high level, this battle is phenomenal to watch."
Heaviest crash
The last time Rosberg himself was at Zandvoort to race is not one he looks back on with pleasure. He experienced the worst crash of his career: "That was in Formula 3, I braked but the car did nothing and then I went full throttle into the wall. I pulled on my steering wheel at the last moment to force a sideways impact. I was unconscious until the doctor came," the German said.
On a bike
These days, Rosberg is involved in a lot of other things besides Formula 1, although he is still a frequent reporter for the Sky Sports team. The ex-World Champion is mainly concerned with working for a better environment. The race weekend in Zandvoort certainly appealed to him. "I am proud of the green initiative of Heineken during the Dutch Grand Prix. At other races, maybe 1 percent comes by bike. Here, it's 79! That's really great."
