Although he cannot yet state with certainty which team he will appear on the grid for next season, Valtteri Bottas is keen on one thing: he wants to sign a multi-year contract. The Finn announced this in the drivers' press conference.

Speaking to journalists at the press conference in Zandvoort, Bottas explained what attracted him to a multi-year contract: "A multi-year contract would be nice. That’s something I've never had before in Formula 1", the driver was quoted as saying by, among others, Motorsport.com.

Bottas continued, explaining that a longer contract allows you to have a stronger connection with your team as a driver. "That could definitely give you a good, full commitment to the team not just that year, but knowing that the work continues", the driver said.

Ng far from ready

Currently Bottas looks set to become Kimi Raikkonen's successor at Alfa Romeo. Asked about his wishes for the next few years, the Finn said: "It needs to be challenging. It needs to be exciting. It needs to be fun, in an atmosphere that I really enjoy working with. I think those are really the main things I'm looking for. But like I said earlier, I still have a good few years in Formula 1."
