Max Verstappen was partly satisfied after his second free practice. The Dutchman drove the fifth fastest time of the afternoon session and will have to work hard with his team to do better in qualifying.

On the Zandvoort circuit it is difficult for drivers to overtake each other, making it important to get a good position during the qualifying session. In front of the Sky Sports cameras Verstappen says he knows this. "We know that the starting position is very important. So we have to do a look at the short runs to do better," he told.

Verstappen enjoyed the many Dutch fans lining the track during practice. "It was good and really enjoyable to see. All in orange and having fun in the Grand Stand. And of course also on the track. It's quite a short lap and fast corners as well."

"I don't think it looks representative from our side because after one lap the tyres do drop off a bit. Nevertheless we will work on a few things. The long run looks competitive. The starting position around here is important."

Hamilton versus Verstappen

Red Bull Racing's driver is battling for the lead in the world championship this weekend. List leader Lewis Hamilton, who is three points ahead, was forced to retire within ten minutes of the second free practice session due to engine problems.
