Following his sudden substitution for Kimi Raikkonen at Zandvoort, Alfa Romeo has once again called upon the talents of Robert Kubica for the race weekend at Monza.

Last weekend a positive coronavirus test threw a spanner in the works of Kimi Raikkonen, who will officially make his exit from Formula 1 after this season. He was then replaced by Kubica, and this will happen again this weekend.

"As per health authority requirements, [Raikkonen] is still isolating in his home", the team confirmed today on Twitter. "RRobert, who performed admirably in the Netherlands after stepping in at short notice before FP3, will return to the car alongside Antonio Giovinazzi."

Special livery

Earlier today the team announced that they will race with a special livery at the Monza Autodrome, because it is the team's home race. On the Alfa Romeo car, the Italian tricolore will be visible this weekend. We are also still waiting for another announcement from the team, regarding the filling of the second seat next to Valtteri Bottas in 2022.
