Marko delighted: 'We've seen that's practically impossible'

According to Helmut Marko Red Bull Racing should be happy with a sudden pole position. The Austrian believes overtaking is very difficult at Monza. Because of this he thinks Max Verstappen has the best chances for victory, despite the faster Mercedes.
Marko dares to dream
After Verstappen's start went very well and Lewis Hamilton fell back behind both McLaren's, there was hardly any overtaking during the sprint qualifying of the Italian Grand Prix. "We have seen that overtaking is practically impossible. That means that if the start is successful and nothing extraordinary happens, we can dream of victory," Marko told Sky Sports' German branch.
Pole position came pretty much out of the blue for Red Bull, which is why there is also a great deal of satisfaction at the team that managed to win the first two Grands Prix after the summer break. "We didn't think we would start from pole position tomorrow at Monza. We're two points ahead of Hamilton, but above all the speed we have in the race is encouraging", concludes Marko.
