Red Bull sees Gasly as option for 2023: "Would never rule out anything"

Pierre Gasly was disappointed to see Red Bull Racing choose Sergio Perez as Max Verstappen's teammate for 2022. The Frenchman did not hide his frustration and made it clear in no uncertain terms that he did not understand the choice of the Austrian team. The door to Red Bull for Gasly is not yet completely closed.
By Formula One 's official website, Christian Horner was asked if Gasly is still a candidate to return one day. "I would never rule anything out," said the British team boss. "He’s driving at a very nice standard. He’s still very young, he’s doing a great job. For 2023, we have multiple options available to us, so when you’re in the situation that we are, that’s exactly what we want."
Gasly on loan
Perez extended his commitment for just one year, so Gasly still has a chance. Horner is keeping a close eye on his pupil's performance. "Pierre has done a phenomenal job with AlphaTauri the last couple of seasons, and their aspirations continue to grow, so for him to retain the lead drive there is good. He remains a Red Bull Racing driver on loan to AlphaTauri.”
Gasly is impressing at Franz Tost's team this season. His qualifying is particularly strong, with the 25-year-old driver managing to qualify in the top-six particularly often. On Sundays, the Frenchman is a little more unhappy. Currently, he is ninth in the world championship with eight GP's to go.
