Alonso hasn't had any luck this year: 'Only podium possible with chaotic race'

Fernando Alonso would almost hope for a very chaotic race. The two-time world champion, who returned to F1 this year, does not expect to get a podium with Alpine F1 this year.
In recent years, F1 fans have been treated to a chaotic race, often leading to a surprising podium. Alonso sets realistic goals and without another chaotic race, he does not expect to reach the podium this season.
Autosport quotes the Spaniard: "I think we are the fifth or sixth team in the field. So to take a podium we need a very chaotic race. Without that, P6 or P7 is our maximum achievable position."
Alonso expects better weekend in Russia
Although he finished eighth in Monza, Alonso thinks he can do better in Russia. The Monza circuit is not suited to the Alpine car: "A clean Friday is important, because it could be the only dry run of the weekend," said Alonso.
"You never know, but at least we have more confidence here than in Monza."
