Lewis Hamilton set the second-fastest time in the second free practice session, just a fraction slower than teammate Valtteri Bottas. The Englishman can therefore look forward to the weekend with confidence.

In the pit lane, something remarkable happened during the second free practice. Hamilton came in to change his tyres but braked too late. As a result, he hit his teammate hard, who fell backwards and ended up on his back. From the images below, it looks like the man is doing well.

GP of Turkey

Hamilton is on an important weekend for the world championship. As Max Verstappen chooses to change his engine, his competitor will start from the back of the grid. If the Dutchman fails to overtake many drivers, Hamilton could lose a lot of points. However, with Red Bull Racing's car, it is not out of the question that Verstappen will finish in a respectable position.

For the time being the seven times world champion is five points behind Verstappen. The Russian Grand Prix is followed two weeks later by the race in Turkey.
