Formula 1 is trying new things in the sport. This season there will be three sprint races. Silverstone and Monza have already been held, Brazil is planned for later this season.

Everyone has a different opinion about the new format. One modification that has been mentioned several times is the reverse starting order. Fernando Alonso is not enthusiastic about this idea. "First of all, I think Formula 1 is always looking for an improvement, which sometimes is not necessary. I don't know any other sport that is so committed to making or improving the show," he says on Motorsport-Total.com.

"In football, which is usually the king of the sport, there are so many games going on that it gets boring. Yet there are no changes or suggestions on how they can change the game to improve the show. There is no drama at all."

Friday is too decisive according to Alonso

"I feel that Friday is decisive for the rest of the weekend because qualifying is determined by the performance of the car, not by the effort of the driver." Alonso suggests that only one attempt should be given to drivers with one set of tyres during qualifying. "I think with our experience we should increase the difficulty on Friday, maybe with only one attempt, not six."

A reversed starting grid would only be acceptable to Alonso because he himself is in a slower car. "But I don't think it's fair and I don't think Formula 1 should make this revolution," he finishes.
