Norris should have had a penalty: 'The rules on this are clear'.

Lando Norris was not penalised for crossing the white line in the pit lane on slicks. Where many people were happy that no penalty was given for this, Frederic Vasseur doesn't understand the stewards at all anymore and F1 looks stupid now according to him.
Unclear penalties in F1
Norris seemed to be on the way to victory during the Russian Grand Prix for a long time, but missed out on the victory in the end. The Briton drove too long on slicks, which in the rain eventually left him with no grip. On slicks, it also went wrong when entering the pits. Where many drivers got a penalty for this, this was not the case for Norris.
Vasseur is fed up with the fact that the rules are again not enforced consistently. ''Everyone thinks Lando is a nice guy and nobody says anything bad about him in the paddock, but we can't change the rules because he is nice and actually deserved the win. If you cross that line then you should get a penalty. That's how it's been several times,'' Vasseur said according to Motorsport-total.com.
Should Norris have a penalty?
''There was also no safety issue or time gain for Yuki Tsunoda when he got his penalty, but he also just got a penalty. Nobody complained about that, because the rules on this are clear. Lando had a very big advantage. In this scenario he would have had to drive another lap on slicks, so a five-second penalty would not even have been enough as a penalty.''
Vasseur is annoyed that the penalties are being handed out so inconsistently and thinks Formula 1 looks like a joke now that Lando is not getting a penalty. However, he is not going to complain about it. ''I'm not a fan of that. On Sunday the race results should be clear. That is better for everyone. Then at least I can still go home'', Vasseur concludes with a laugh.
