Valtteri Bottas had to wait for a long time, but in Turkey he could finally climb to the top step of the podium again. The Finn leaves Mercedes after five years of loyal service and will drive for Alfa Romeo from 2022 onwards. Since that announcement he seems a lot more relaxed in the car.

Calm by Alfa Romeo announcement?

Bottas dominated at Istanbul Park and won the Turkish Grand Prix. Since the Finn was announced at Alfa Romeo, where he has a two-year contract, he seems to be a lot more relaxed in the car. Bottas himself says nothing has changed since the announcement: 'I think the team has been good, nothing has really changed', Bottas opens at the FIA press conference.

"Everything as normal and the team has a good spirit overall and we’re really motivated for the rest of the year and working hard as always. I only saw them from the podium and when I got out of the car it was good, obviously. Yeah, everyone seemed happy," Bottas continued.

Attending every meeting at Mercedes

Bottas will race six more Grands Prix weekends for Mercedes. The 32-year-old driver takes a lot of information with him from Mercedes to his new team Alfa Romeo. But he says he is still at all the team's meetings: "Yes, I’m in every meeting that I’ve been in before, in these five years. If there’s other meetings, I don’t know about those, so for me, everything is normal!"
