The Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium is subject to a large-scale reconstruction. This has already started, which also means the end of the iconic chalet at Eau Rouge/Raidillon.

Work has begun at the legendary Eau Rouge and Raidillon corner combination. The iconic chalet that has stood there for many years will be demolished to make way for a new grandstand with VIP lounges, which offers a view over Eau Rouge, a section after La Source and the paddock.

Gravel pit returns to Spa-Francorchamps

The grandstand opposite the old pit lane will also be demolished and replaced by a brand new one. This will provide 13.000 extra seats; double the current number of seats.

In addition to the new grandstands, the gravel beds will return to several corners and the run-off areas will be enlarged to improve safety. This includes Raidillon, where many serious crashes have taken place in recent years including the fatal accident of Anthoine Hubert in 2019.
