The United States Grand Prix was a great success with some 140,000 fans at the race on Sunday. In 2022 the Formula 1 will also go to Miami and according to Sportsmail Las Vegas has now also had talks with F1.

F1 in America

America is an important piece of the puzzle for Liberty Media. Ever since their entry in F1 they have been hammering away at the opportunities for the sport in the United States. In the land of IndyCar and Nascar, F1 wasn't embraced for years, but now that seems to change. The race in Austin was a great success.

Besides the race in Austin, there will also be a Grand Prix of Miami in 2022, but it seems that it will not stop there. The British newspaper reports that representatives from the state of Nevada have had talks with Stefano Domenicali during the American GP. The race will be added to the calendar in 2023 at the earliest.

Race in Las Vegas

''I've had the chance to speak to F1 leaders and I appreciate their time. Despite the momentum there are several hurdles to be cleared before any deal is done,'' Steve Sisolak, governor of the state of Nevada, revealed when asked for his reaction.

Liberty Media has made it no secret that it wants to have three races in America on the calendar. The last time this happened was in 1982 when a race in Las Vegas was scheduled as well. The Caesars Palace Grand Prix however was not a success and had only two editions with 1981 and 1982. Alan Jones and Michele Alboreto were the winners.
