Norris balances: 'Just because I do that doesn't mean I'm not serious'

Lando Norris entered Formula 1 as a young Brit in 2019. Norris was well received by the fans, mainly because he liked a joke. However, the McLaren driver himself wants to appear a bit more serious and he is working hard to do so.
Norris jokes a bit less
Nowadays, Norris is more often to be found on the golf course than in front of his computer gaming. He also makes fewer jokes and is trying to find a balance between the serious version of himself and the buffoonish version. "Not everyone took me seriously when I came to Formula 1," he says at Formule1.nl.
The funny version of Norris has not disappeared completely and he knows that too. But the young driver is clearly working on becoming more serious. "Just because I make some jokes in front of the camera sometimes, doesn't mean I don't take my job seriously and do everything I can," Norris revealed. "I want to show people that I take it seriously. I also think I've proven that this year."
Winning with McLaren
"I'm not here just to have fun: I want to win with McLaren," Norris concludes. The young Briton is having an excellent third season at McLaren. He has been on the podium four times already and achieved his first pole position in Russia.
