Carlos Sainz is in his first year as a driver for Ferrari. The Spaniard notices a clear difference with his old teams, especially when it comes to media. He is therefore working hard to have more control over what he wants to say.

The Ferrari driver has noticed this year that especially the Italian media can turn a detail into a big news story, making him realize better than ever that he has to pay more attention to what he says in an interview. "It's interesting how little news can become big news just because you are Ferrari, or part of Ferrari," he told f1i.com. "In Italy this happens a lot and it's something I still have to learn to deal with."

Media training helps Sainz

Although the driver wants to concentrate mainly on racing, he is working hard at Ferrari with media training to improve in other areas as well. The driver has noticed that he has made clear progress in recent months.

"I'm still learning how to talk in a certain way, to realize that if I say things this way instead of saying it the other way, it can become a big headline or not. As a driver, I'm trying to teach myself how to deal with situations like this, because it's not easy at all."
