During and after the Grand Prix weekend in Mexico, a lot of the action took place off the track. A social media war has erupted between Red Bull and Mercedes and everyone is making statements that discredit others. Max Verstappen isn't known for not mincing his words, but he won't be drawn into a war of words.

Valtteri Bottas' poor defence at the start of the race has earned the Finn criticism from within. Team boss Toto Wolff was unhappy with his second driver's race, saying Bottas' fastest lap did not make up for it.

When Verstappen is presented with Wolff's statements, he supports Bottas while being interviewed by Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf. "You have to leave a car width of space, otherwise he would have gotten a penalty," said the 24-year-old Limburger. "I don't really know what Toto is talking about. You can very easily blame it on Valtteri, but I think that's a bit of a cheap shot," said the always down-to-earth Verstappen.
