Good news for Verstappen? Possible grid penalty for Hamilton
- GPblog.com
Possibly bad news for Lewis Hamilton and his chances for his eighth world title. According to rumours the Mercedes driver will have to replace his combustion engine in Brazil. That would mean that the Briton gets a grid penalty of ten places.
Problems Mercedes engine
Formula One journalist Julianne Cerasoli, writing for the Brazilian UOL among others, says she has hot news on Twitter. "Hamilton will replace the combustion engine at Interlagos. Mercedes thought they had solved the problem, but noticed a drop in water pressure during the race in Mexico, " writes the Brazilian.
If the rumours are true, this will be the fifth engine for the reigning world champion. That would mean that the Mercedes driver would have to start outside the top ten in any case and in the worst case even further back. For Max Verstappen, it would of course be good news if his big rival has to start far behind him.
