Toyaharu Tanabe is looking with amazement at all engine problems at Mercedes. One after the other Mercedes engines are replaced, but at Honda they don't have any problems.
Tanabe can't believe the problems at Mercedes
Lewis Hamilton will start the Brazilian Grand Prix five places further back than his starting position in Saturday's sprint qualifying. This is because the Briton has had to use his fifth internal combustion engine already. Tanabe revealed at the press conference that he is surprised by all the problems at the competitor.
''I can't believe what's going on (at Mercedes)'', Tanabe would have said at the press conference according to several journalists. Tanabe also indicated that Verstappen, provided he hadn't crashed at Silverstone, could have just finished the season with three engines. Tanabe also mentions that it is not nice for a driver to get so many grid penalties.
cont/.. And without the Silverstone accident Tanabe believes Honda could have got through the entire year without an engine change. Talk about socking it to #Mercedes #f1 #BrazilGP

"It's kind of disappointing to get a PU penalty for the driver", he adds. I think we may have entered a new dimension here.
